Psalm 118 Thanksgiving for Victory 118 1Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. 2Let Israel say, “His faithful love endures forever.” 3Let the house of Aaron say, “His faithful love endures forever.” 4Let those who fear the Lord say, “His faithful love endures forever.”   5I called to the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and put me in a spacious place.[O] 6The Lord is for me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? 7The Lord is my helper, Therefore, I will look in triumph on those who hate me.   8It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. 9It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in nobles.   10All the nations surrounded me; in the name of Yahweh I destroyed them. 11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; in the name of Yahweh I destroyed them. 12They surrounded me like bees; they were extinguished like a fire among thorns; in the name of Yahweh I destroyed them. 13You[P] pushed me[Q] hard to make me fall, but the Lord helped me. 14The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.   15There are shouts of joy and victory in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand performs valiantly! 16The Lord’s right hand is raised. The Lord’s right hand performs valiantly!” 17I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the Lord has done. 18The Lord disciplined me severely but did not give me over to death.   19Open the gates of righteousness for me; I will enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. 20This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous will enter through it. 21I will give thanks to You because You have answered me and have become my salvation. 22The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. 23This came from the Lord; it is wonderful in our eyes. 24This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.   25Lord, save us! Lord, please grant us success! 26He who comes in the name of the Lord is blessed. From the house of the Lord we bless you. 27The Lord is God and has given us light. Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28You are my God, and I will give You thanks. You are my God; I will exalt You. 29Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.

Keep your focus on God, and things of God. Be satisfied with what you have, don't envy, or covet Let God be enuf, bc when Gods on your side who do you have to fear.. Gods bigger then all our problems together Gods bigger then the boogieman.. Veggie tales episode Ties to easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle then a rich man to go to Heaven- this could be bc a rich man pursues wealth, focuses on getting more... It's an obsession.. What he's doing is replacing the need for God with the need for money.. Rich pple have to feel in control of their destiny.. They lack the faith needed to stand on Gods promises and trust in Him to meet their needs. This can also be true of the poor man..why do we fight God over control of our lives?? Same as our kids don't want to listen or obey or trust us. They think they know best.. If we don't put our faith and trust in Christ we make other things into idols.. Such as money bc moe y equals power and control.. And we feel that we can control our future if only we have enuf money... Sad truth.. We never have enuf money.. Faith of a mustard seed.. Can move mountains .. Y is our faith small... We r afraid to trust..to put our faith in someone bigger then ourselves..,y Maybe bc we have put our faith in humans and been let down, been hurt, had our trust broken... Parents who abused us, spouses who cheated, friends who lied, pastors who let us down.. It's bc we can't put our faith in man!! We need to put our faith in God and in His hands Think of movie War Room... She put faith in hubby.. He let her down.. Put faith in God and by doing so put her marriage her hubby and his problems in Gods hands The best thing we can do for another is put their life in Gods hands...pray pray pray!!! Pray without ceasing We put our faith in God like the children of Israel did to feed them manna each day... Why worry... Bc we lack the faith needed to trust n believe We want Gods help when we need it but don't want Him when we r disobedient to look upon us... Just like our children get quiet when they r misbehaving... Do we do the same thing with God... We turn silent, our prayers cease, our bible studying ceases, we turn away from God bc we know He wouldn't approve of our behavior... This is interesting bc I see evidence of this in my own life Daily prayer n study help to keep our focus on God, so we r less likely to be tempted or fall into sin. The closer we get to Him the more we want to please Him, much in the same way our children want to please us, gain our approval, because they love us bc first we loved them. We showed them love before they knew what love was, in return they love us back and seek our approval and trust in us to look out for them. God loved us before we knew Him, although we will fail our children God will never fail us.

Diamond in the Rough Most of us generally don't know how to defend scripture. The reliability of Scripture is defensible, but we can't defend Scripture without obeying Scripture. God used human authors when he breathed out the Scripture. He sovereignty inspired them. In marriage, you cannot really determine where one person stops, and the other begins. You influence each other. The same is true of the authors writing God's word. With so many copies made over thousands of years, how can we be sure that the many different translations of the Bible are reliable. The New Testament is 99% accurate. That 1% discrepancy within copies is simply grammar and syntax, no difference in belief or doctrine. There are 295 explicit references and quotes to the OT. That is roughly 4% or 1 out of every 22 verses directly refers to the Old Testament. People don't have their hearts changed by arguments or insults. People have their hearts changed by Christ. -R. Moore We must be equipped to defend our faith, but we must have a faith worth defending. The Bible: 1. Looks forward to Jesus 2. Tells us about Jesus 3. Reflects back upon Jesus' life.

He whose heart is kind beyond all measure Gives unto each day what He deems best— Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, Mingling toil with peace and rest. —Berg Each new day gives us new reasons to praise the Lord. We can know that God is watching, always present, everywhere, and with hope and joy and patience He is waiting for our prayer. If you're too busy to pray, you're too busy.
