18 1One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.   2A fool does not delight in understanding, but only wants to show off his opinions.[D]   3When a wicked man comes, contempt also does, and along with dishonor, disgrace.     4The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters, a flowing river, a fountain of wisdom.[E]   5It is not good to show partiality to the guilty by perverting the justice due the innocent.   6A fool’s lips lead to strife, and his mouth provokes a beating.   7A fool’s mouth is his devastation, and his lips are a trap for his life.   8A gossip’s words are like choice food that goes down to one’s innermost being.[F]   9The one who is truly lazy in his work is brother to a vandal.[G]   10The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected.[H]   11A rich man’s wealth is his fortified city; in his imagination it is like a high wall.     12Before his downfall a man’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.   13The one who gives an answer before he listens— this is foolishness and disgrace for him.   14A man’s spirit can endure sickness, but who can survive a broken spirit?     15The mind of the discerning acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks it.   16A gift opens doors[I] for a man and brings him before the great.   17The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.     18Casting the lot ends quarrels and separates powerful opponents.   19An offended brother is harder to reach[J] than a fortified city, and quarrels are like the bars of a fortress.   20From the fruit of his mouth a man’s stomach is satisfied; he is filled with the product of his lips.   21Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.   22A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.   23The poor man pleads, but the rich one answers roughly.   24A man with many friends may be harmed,[K] but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother.

When the wealthy have it rigged for the poor to always draw the short straw, Proverbs 18:18 is null and void. Remember proverbs 18:18 says: "sometimes" it's better to draw straws. The way that I fight will not be with fists, weapons, or lawsuits. I fight respectfully, transparently, and honorably with only the truth. If people continue to fight me with lies, they will lose in the end regardless of what happens to me.

God is for you.  It's God's will that we rejoice always.  He wants us to always be thankful for what we have. He wants us to pray without ceasing meaning that we can pray any time we want or need to and we can depend on Him all the time.  There's no set time that we can talk to God. He is there always.  In the midst of our problems, we still should be thankful that God is with us and He is on our side.  Are you aware of God's presence in your life?  He is always here and will never leave us. He doesn't take breaks or vacations, He is always here.  He grants that we share in the present works of His kingdom's power.

We reap what we sow. What we speak has major power in our lives. We MUST be careful the things that we speak into existence.  There is no power in satan except for the power that we allow him. We can shut down satan in an instant. Satan is nothing to us as believers. He has no power over us.  Whenever I hear someone talk about how God hates gays it really gets me to the core. It makes me angry because I know that God is love. But I have to be careful not to let my guard down. Because when I do, satan sneaks in an tries to tell me that I'm no good and that God is turning His back on me. Having grown up in church, I know God would never turn His back on me.  But I think about all of the people who hear this and DON'T know about Gods love and am no longer surprised at how many gays turn their backs on God. It breaks my heart.  The only way you have truth is through the Word of God.  Sometimes the only God people hear is what we speak.
