Saul Rejected as King 15 1Samuel told Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you as king over His people Israel. Now, listen to the words of the Lord. 2This is what the Lord of Hosts says: ‘I witnessed[I] what the Amalekites did to the Israelites when they opposed them along the way as they were coming out of Egypt. 3Now go and attack the Amalekites and completely destroy everything they have. Do not spare them. Kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ ” 4Then Saul summoned the troops and counted them at Telaim: 200,000 foot soldiers and 10,000 men from Judah. 5Saul came to the city of Amalek and set up an ambush in the wadi. 6He warned the Kenites, “Since you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came out of Egypt, go on and leave! Get away from the Amalekites, or I’ll sweep you away with them.” So the Kenites withdrew from the Amalekites. 7Then Saul struck down the Amalekites from Havilah all the way to Shur, which is next to Egypt. 8He captured Agag king of Amalek alive, but he completely destroyed all the rest of the people with the sword. 9Saul and the troops spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, cattle, and choice animals,[J] as well as the young rams and the best of everything else. They were not willing to destroy them, but they did destroy all the worthless and unwanted things. 10Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel, 11“I regret that I made Saul king, for he has turned away from following Me and has not carried out My instructions.” So Samuel became angry and cried out to the Lord all night. 12Early in the morning Samuel got up to confront Saul, but it was reported to Samuel, “Saul went to Carmel where he set up a monument for himself. Then he turned around and went down to Gilgal.” 13When Samuel came to him, Saul said, “May the Lord bless you. I have carried out the Lord’s instructions.” 14Samuel replied, “Then what is this sound of sheep[K] and cattle I hear?” 15Saul answered, “The troops brought them from the Amalekites and spared the best sheep and cattle in order to offer a sacrifice to the Lord your God, but the rest we destroyed.” 16“Stop!” exclaimed Samuel. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” “Tell me,” he replied. 17Samuel continued, “Although you once considered yourself unimportant, have you not become the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel 18and then sent you on a mission and said: ‘Go and completely destroy the sinful Amalekites. Fight against them until you have annihilated them.’ 19So why didn’t you obey the Lord? Why did you rush on the plunder and do what was evil in the Lord’s sight?” 20“But I did obey the Lord!” Saul answered.[L] “I went on the mission the Lord gave me: I brought back Agag, king of Amalek, and I completely destroyed the Amalekites. 21The troops took sheep and cattle from the plunder—the best of what was set apart for destruction—to sacrifice to the Lord your God at Gilgal.” 22Then Samuel said:   Does the Lord take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord?   Look: to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay attention is better than the fat of rams. 23For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.   24Saul answered Samuel, “I have sinned. I have transgressed the Lord’s command and your words. Because I was afraid of the people, I obeyed them. 25Now therefore, please forgive my sin and return with me so I can worship the Lord.” 26Samuel replied to Saul, “I will not return with you. Because you rejected the word of the Lord, the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.” 27When Samuel turned to go, Saul grabbed the hem of his robe, and it tore. 28Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingship of Israel away from you today and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you. 29Furthermore, the Eternal One of Israel does not lie or change His mind, for He is not man who changes his mind.” 30Saul said, “I have sinned. Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so I can bow in worship to the Lord your God.” 31Then Samuel went back, following Saul, and Saul bowed down to the Lord. 32Samuel said, “Bring me Agag king of Amalek.” Agag came to him trembling,[M] for he thought, “Certainly the bitterness of death has come.”[N][O] 33Samuel declared:   As your sword has made women childless, so your mother will be childless among women.   Then he hacked Agag to pieces before the Lord at Gilgal. 34Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul. 35Even to the day of his death, Samuel never again visited Saul. Samuel mourned for Saul, and the Lord regretted He had made Saul king over Israel.

I..We compromise our relationship and spiritual growth in Christ Jesus as a result of Trying to seek approval and validation from man, from momma, from daddy, and just from people in general. Some are stuck in the past, all because of acceptance or the lack thereof. Why are we always looking for validation from others? What are you expecting from others?? Why do we wait, in anticipation that someone is going to come up to us and tell us that we are smart, that we are intelligent, that we are important and when no one ever comes up to tell us, then what? Committing suicide because of validation, Homicide cause they feel that they are not good enough Abandoning their children, loved ones, because they just feel that they are not good enough.... II. You wanna know why we give in to the negative stereotypes and labels of this world... Its because when you hear something long enough, we take it as truth. When you hear the same old negative rant long enough, it becomes truth, we begin to identify with it....It becomes our gospel, WE ACCEPT THE LABELS, WE ACCEPT THE POSITION THAT WE ARE IN, AND WE ULTIMATELY ACCEPT THE DEFEAT. Sterotypes that tell us that We are not good enough. WE are not pretty enough, believing that you are not important enough, Believing that because your parents didn't achieve, that you would also be an under achiever Believing that we are inadequate, we are insufficient, that we are not successful, III. ITS BECAUSE WE HAVE WAITED FOR SOMEONE TO COME AND TELL US THAT WE WERE GOOD ENOUGH PRETTY ENOUGH IMPORTANT ENOUGH SUCCESSFUL ENOUGH, AND WHEN no one ever comes, WHEN NO ONE EVER COMES TO VALIDATE US....TELL US THESE THINGS, WE GIVE INTO THEM, WE accept the labels, we accept this idea, it becomes our security blanket, and we feed into the negative stereotypes, AND NEVER BECOME THE BEST MORREO, KEYSHA, MISSIONARY JOLLY, MOTHER DARRITY, DEACON HAUGABOOK, SISTER JANIKKA, SISTER THAMEKA, SISTER MARGARETTE THAT WE COULD HAVE BECOME NOT ONLY IN THE CHURCH, BUT IN LIFE ITSELF. ________________________========================================================================================================================================= IV......BUT, BUT, BUT....SOMEBODY SAY BUT...JESUS....... IN A STILL SMALL voice Jesus has come to tell us that WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. He comes to remind US that WE ARE THE HEAD and not the tail, He to remindUS that WE are the lender and not the borrower, WE are more than conqueror, Greater is He that is in YOU than He that is in The world, AND BECAUSE OF MY BLOOD, you are a new creature.......SOMEBODY SAY NEW........OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY, BEHOLD ALL THINGS BECOME NEW.....LOOK AT A NEIGHBOR AND SAY......I AM SIGNED......SEALED.......AND DELIVERED....... MY RANSOM NOTE HAS BEEN SIGNED MY SALVATION IS SEALED UNTIL THE DAY OF REDEMPTION AND I AM DELIVERED FROM ALL FILTH, GUILT AND SIN.......I AM SIGNED, SEALED, AND DELIVERED....NOW COM'ON AND GIVE HIM ABOUT 15 SECONDS OF HOLY GHOST PRAISE.... V........You are in this world, but not of this world! This world is not YOUR friend, THis world does not care about you nor will accept you in any form or fashion....Unfortunately, we look for validation, we hunger for it, and in certain arenas, it is essential that you have someone substantiate or confirm that you are qualified to do that which you have been assigned to do, YOU SAY....I DON'T NEED NOBODY VALIDATING ME, QUANTIFYING ME, I'M MY OWN HYPE MAN......PLEASE....... on your Job we wanna be told that our efforts will lead to a higher position or even raise. In your community we wanna be told that we are the best neighborhood watch or that we are doing a good job In your home, we wanna be told that we are the best dad or the best mom THE UNFORTUNATE THING, IS THAT THIS SAME MENTALITY TRANSFERS OVER INTO YOUR SPIRITUAL WALK IN CHRIST JESUS!!!!! The unfortunate thing about the matter is that when it comes down to MINISTRY, there are those individuals that are looking for validation from other people WHEN THE ONLY VALIDATION YOU NEED IS FROM GOD....................... VI...Even in the Church, we wanna be told that we sang that song We wanna be told that we read the scripture very well I even look to my Wife for some validation on How well I did almost every Sunday... IN some instances, its Alright, even Jesus asks Peter, Whom do men say that I am!!!!!!! *******Its when the men and women of God began to seek validity to justify their calling and election in God true *******We deviate away from Preaching the True word of God and truly ministering to the PEOPLE of GOD that we begin to sin and mock GOD.... Its when we begin to preach, teach, select songs, select scriptures to curve man's appetites, and receive Glory from man ********Its when we forget that we are to edify the People that they may Glorify God and that God receive the Glory that we begin to not only fail the people, we not only fail ourselves, but we ultimately FAIL GOD........ ITS TO GOD BE THE GLORY TO GOD BE THE PRAISE TO GOD BE HONOR, GLORY, DOMINION AND POWER FOREVER, ================= ================================================================================== 1 CORINTHIANS 1:31 He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. BOAST in the Lord...... confidence, dependent, honor the LORD>>......... VII. PEOPLE SITTING IN CHURCHES FOR 40 YEARS, AND HAVEN'T MOVED YET, WHILE OTHERS ARE GROWING NOT ONLY IN CHRIST JESUS........contagious.....BUT THE BEHAVIOR HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN TO THIER CHILDREN AS WELL. I meet people, saints of god daily who are waiting on a prophet, a pastor, an evangelist to come, lay hands on their heads and proclaim that they are a chosen vessel, a peculiar person, versus believing what the lord has said in his word. Truth be told, there should never be anything said to you at any alter that you already don't know or have not already heard, nor already have an idea that is happening. 1. God is not the author of confusion 2. He does not force anything on you that you don't need 3. If you are not able to bear it at the moment...., GOD DOESN'T THROW ANY ASSIGNMENT ON YOU WHEN you may need to work on something's, you may be having husband or wife, or even relationship issues 4. You may just not be mature enough for it 5.Try the spirit by the spirit to discern if it is of the lord. There should never be anything said to you from god that does not line up with the plan that God has for your life. What is said to you thru TRUE prophetic utterance should be more confirmation and reinforcement of what YOU HAVE PRAYED FOR, WORKED FOR, OR HOPED FOR THROUGH FAITH........ VIII. What if it never comes, what if it never happens, what if there is never a prophetic utterance, WHAT IF NO one ever comes up to validate who I am, what i am, and what I am to become in Christ Jesus....HONEY, it is GOD WHO JUSTIFIES, IT IS GOD WHO ORDAINS, IT IS GOD WHO POSITIONS, IT IS GOD WHO CALLS, IT IS GOD WHO ELECTS, IT IS GOD WHO PROMOTES, IT IS GODDDD!!! Samuel never received a word prophecy from man, God called him, his mother prayed him, positioned him to prosper, GOD CONFIRMED IT, and so, he did We have to position ourselves to be prosperous, We have to position ourselves to be victorious We have to spend the necessary time exerting the necessary energy to be prosperous in ministery we have to hone our skills and the only way to do that is to spend time with god through the word of god psalms 119:105 the word of god is a lamp into my feet and a light unto my path IX....it is god which validates us it is god who determines who we are in Christ Jesus no longer should we be stagnant waiting defeated out of place out of position doing what is necessary for man vs doing what is essential for the kingdom of God!!!!!!! That's how frustration sets in, everyone else around you is growing and maturing and receiving spiritual growth, and and your season just continues to pass you by. TOUCH A NEIGHBOR AND SAY NEIGHBOR, IT IS MY SEASON......... Is there someone who is ready to walk into their season, is there someone ready to activate their harvest Is there someone in here ready to take this thing to the next level' L The activation of YOUR season happens when we begin to SHIFT our ways of thinking, acting, and believing.......................... Consider the prodigal son, HE SOUGHT WORLDLY APPROVAL AND ACCEPTANCE OVER GODLY ACCEPTANCE ,The only way that He shifted his POSITION was to CHANGE HIS WAY OF THINKING. .........begin to recall WHO and to WHOM he was, and after HE Determined that even HIS father's servants had it better than HE DID, HE not only believed, BUT HE DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT.......HE SHIFTED....HE SHIFTED...HE SHIFTED........ Go back to school, Enroll in a GED Program, Enroll in a Vocational Program, Take that ASVAB PUT IN THAT APPLICATION, TAKE THAT ENTRANCE LEVEL EXAM, --------========================================================================== LETS TRANSITION HERE.......... X.....False commitment kills spiritual growth False commitment hinders the move of God in your Life False commitment delays your Blessings in Christ Jesus As leaders, we are to equip ourselves with spiritual discernment to determine that WE have brought you as far as WE can take you, ON THIS LEVEL, AND NOW, ITS TIME FOR YOU TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVE, WE ARE TO conclude that it is time for you to be elevated in the things of god, versus sitting on you for OUR own benefit. John the baptist tells his disciples that you have heard me preach and minister of the coming messiah, well he is here, and there is nothing else that I can give other than support, now I release you to him for your spiritual growth and maturity. There are people to this day that styphen the spiritual growth and maturity of their members because the members are no longer seeds which need to be nurtured and matured, they are now numbers, amounts, positions, serving the ministry, necessary for this board, that board, in the choir, driving the church van, versus becoming all that they can be in Christ Jesus. SOMETIMES WE GET SO CAUGHT UP IN NUMBERS, Sometimes we get so caught up with titles, that we miss god. Apostle, pastor prophet, prophetess, evangelist. XI.....ROMANS 10:17- FAITH COMETING BY HEARING AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD We spend more time listening and seeking validation from folk that have nothing to do with salvation.... We spend more time listening and seeking validation from folk that have nothing to do with your divine destiny... Galatians 1:10 10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant[a] of Christ. John 12:43 for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God. Colossians 3:23 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all of these things shall be added unto you. XII... That you shall know them by the fruit that they bear. The only way to successfully bear this kind of fruit that Jesus is referring to is to be in the right place, the right position, for the right reasons to begin to bring forth the fruit that is ripe for the harvest....If you are not in the right postion, if you are awaiting for someone to come and validate you, and tell you what the right position is for you, YOU ARE NEVER GONNA REACH YOUR FULL POTENTIAL Self examination time, 1.what fruit have you yielded as a result of your works? 2. Are you in the same position in the church that you were in 5-10-15-20 years ago 3. When was the last time you witnessed the Good News to someone 4. When has someone given their lives to Christ as a result of your teaching. ================================================================================= As a Pastor and Shepherd of God's People, it is my Good pleasure to push and to motivate, and to basically will the people of God towards becoming their BEST SELVES IN CHRIST JESUS....DON'T you want to be your best SELF in Christ Jesus. Time out for telling you what you are doing wrong That cigarettes is wrong that drinking is wrong Your dress is too short Your hair is too long God tells Samuel to not look at the outward appearance or the tangible things of the chosen King, but search the heart of the man to see His true self and true potential There is true potential in this very Room in Christ Jesus There are Evangelists, Prophets, Teachers, Pastors, and Apostles There are Ushers, Deacons, Choir Directors, Lay Readers, Prayer Warriors. IVX. Self Examination Time 1. What are you passionate about. What is it that you really enjoy doing in the natural. DO you enjoy talking to people, does it come naturally for you, do you like encouraging people....Going door to door....Evangelism is for you. 2. Maybe you are a behind the scenes person, enjoying staying in the house, and taking care of the house. Tending to God's people, then maybe Ushering. 3. You like going to house to house, checking in on the sick and shut in, doing their laundry, taking out their trash, running their errands if they are sick.. Visiting the nursing homes, and doing the extra things that the Pastor cannot do, then the Deaconship or Missionary work is For YOU. You shall know my Faith by My WORKS........ DO you believe in your works, do you believe in what you are doing. Is God pleased with your works, is God pleased with what you are doing. Whatever GOd has placed in your heart as a passion, thats what YOU SHOULD BEGIN TO THROW YOURSELF INTO, AND YOU HAVE A MINISTRY HERE THAT ENCOURAGES YOU TO DO SO...... John 4:34 saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Passionate Determined Hungry, INSPIRED....... TRANSITION....... It is God who justifies It is God who validates It is God who judges your works It is God who calls you an overcomer It is God who anoints you for great works It is God who gives you the passion for ministry and mission it is God who gives you the strength and drive to MOVE MOVE MOVE.......... ============================================================================== Validation comes FROM THE WORKS THAT YOU DO, AND THE WORKS ARE SANCTIONED AND APPROVED BY GOD!!!!! Joseph was a dreamer, and no matter what situation he found himself in, no matter whether it was in Potiphers house, in the Dungeon, in the Palace, or even in the Chariots, He continued to Dream...He continued to Prosper......Don't kill your dreams waiting for someone to come along and validate them, don't kill your dreams waiting for someone to come and approve them don't kill your dreams cause you believe someone else can do it better than you don't kill your dreams because someone else doesn't recognize the talent that is inside of YOU....... You can't afford to wait another minute, the clock is ticking, TAKE THE LEAD GO ON THE OFFENSIVE GO ON THE PROWL RELEASE THE INNER HUNGER CHASE YOUR DREAM DOWN IN CHRIST JESUS YOU WERE CREATED FOR SO MUCH MORE ARCHITECTS SCIENTISTS DENTISTS NURSES DOCTORS DESIGNERS, GO BACK TO SCHOOL GET YOUR DEGREE, GET YOUR GED, RULE RULER RULE.....YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME....GREATER WORKS SHALL YOU DO.......RULE, RULE, RULE..........ITS NOT OVER, ITS NOT OVER, LOOK AT A NEIGHBOR AND TELL 'EM ITS NOT OVER........... Your time IS NOW! YOUR TIME IS NOW YOUR TIME IS NOW YOUR TIME IS NOW!!!!!!! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? 18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. 19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the Lord? 20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal. 22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord. 26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. 27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. 28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. For this cause do i make my stand Saul attempts to kill David 24 times, Hebrews 11the book of faith.... Finish strong...... Overcomer Being victorious. Faith the size of a mustard seed. Ordinary people, extraordinary faith. God takes us where and tells what we are to become, he calls Gideon a mighty man of valor. Gideon was hiding behind the wine press. Theres no other way to explain it other than it was godSo what if so n so leaves the church. Why are you listening to people that have nothing to do with your destiny.Sometimes, in order for us to begin to walk in the Purpose that we were designed to walk in, it requires us to let Go of somethings It requires for us to let go of some positions that we have held onto for some 10-20-30 years It calls for us to acknowledge that we have outgrown what we are doing, and its time to train someone else to do it It calls for us to relinquish some of that power that we have, and share it with someone else It calls for someone to be brave enough to head up a program, start a new board, speak over someone elses life..........Help one another GROW......... It ULTIMATELY REQUIRES FOR US NOT TO BE AFRAID THAT SOMEONE ELSE WILL DO THE JOB BETTER THAN YOU DID.......IF SOMEONE EXCELS IN A JOB THAT YOU USED TO DO, LOOK AT IT AS YOUR PHENOMENAL TRAINING, AND GOD'S ANOINTING....... EACH JOINT IS ESSENTIAL TO THE body of Christ, each joint is necessary to sustain the Kingdom and the ministry the Hand can't say that it is more important than the eye, the eye can't say that it is more important than the foot, But each Joint Supplieth.......
