Spiritual Blessing In Christ
CHAPTER 1The Blessings of Redemption1
1Paul, a2 Cor 1:1 an apostle of bRom 8:1 Christ Jesus [A]c1 Cor 1:1 by the will of God,
To the [B]dActs 9:13 saints who are [C]at eActs 18:19 Ephesus and fCol 1:2who are faithful in bRom 8:1 Christ Jesus: 2aRom 1:7Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3a2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in bEph 1:20; 2:6; 3:10; 6:12the heavenly places in Christ, 4just as aEph 2:10; 2 Thess 2:13f He chose us in Him before bMatt 25:34 the foundation of the world, that we would be cEph 5:27; Col 1:22 holy and blameless before [D]Him. dEph 4:2, 15, 16; 5:2In love 5[E]He aActs 13:48; Rom 8:29f predestined us to bRom 8:14ff adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, cPhil 2:13; Col 1:19according to the [F]kind intention of His will, 6aEph 1:12, 14 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in bMatt 3:17the Beloved. 7aCol 1:14 In [G]Him we have bRom 3:24; 1 Cor 1:30; Eph 1:14 redemption cActs 20:28; Rom 3:25 through His blood, the dActs 2:38 forgiveness of our trespasses, according to eRom 2:4; Eph 1:18; 2:7; 3:8, 16the riches of His grace 8which He [H]lavished on [I]us. In all wisdom and insight 9He [J]aRom 11:25; Eph 3:3 made known to us the mystery of His will, b1 Cor 1:21; Gal 1:15 according to His [K]kind intention which He cRom 8:28; Eph 1:11purposed in Him 10with a view to an administration [L]suitable to aMark 1:15 the fullness of the times, that is, bEph 3:15; Phil 2:9f; Col 1:16, 20the summing up of all things in Christ, things [M]in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him 11[N]also we [O]aDeut 4:20; Eph 1:14; Titus 2:14 have obtained an inheritance, having been bEph 1:5 predestined cRom 8:28f; Eph 3:11 according to His purpose who works all things dRom 9:11; Heb 6:17after the counsel of His will, 12to the end that we who were the first to hope in [P]Christ would be aEph 1:6, 14to the praise of His glory. 13In [Q]Him, you also, after listening to aEph 4:21; Col 1:5 the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also [R]believed, you were bEph 4:30 sealed in [S]Him with cActs 2:33the Holy Spirit of promise, 14who is [T]a2 Cor 1:22 given as a pledge of bActs 20:32 our inheritance, with a view to the cEph 1:7 redemption of dEph 1:11 God’s own possession, eEph 1:6, 12to the praise of His glory.
15For this reason I too, aCol 1:4; Philem 5 having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and [U]your love for bEph 1:1; 3:18all the [V]saints, 16aRom 1:8f; Col 1:9 do not cease giving thanks for you, bRom 1:9while making mention of you in my prayers; 17that the aJohn 20:17; Rom 15:6 God of our Lord Jesus Christ, bActs 7:2; 1 Cor 2:8 the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of cCol 1:9 wisdom and of d1 Cor 14:6revelation in the [W]knowledge of Him. 18I pray that aActs 26:18; 2 Cor 4:6; Heb 6:4 the eyes of your heart [X]may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the bEph 4:4 hope of His cRom 11:29 calling, what are dEph 1:7 the riches of the glory of eEph 1:11 His inheritance in fCol 1:12the [Y]saints, 19and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. aEph 3:7; Col 1:29 These are in accordance with the working of the bEph 6:10strength of His might 20which He brought about in Christ, when He aActs 2:24 raised Him from the dead and bMark 16:19 seated Him at His right hand in cEph 1:3the heavenly places, 21far above aMatt 28:18; Col 1:16 all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every bPhil 2:9; Rev 19:12 name that is named, not only in cMatt 12:32this age but also in the one to come. 22And He aPs 8:6; 1 Cor 15:27 put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as b1 Cor 11:3; Eph 4:15; Col 1:18head over all things to the church, 23which is His a1 Cor 12:27; Eph 4:12; Col 1:18, 24 body, the bJohn 1:16; Eph 3:19 fullness of Him who cEph 4:10 fills dCol 3:11all in all.
