Psalms 2:1 - 12 (NASB) PSALM 22PSALM 2The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed. 1Why are aPs 46:6; 83:2-5; Acts 4:25, 26 the [F]nations in an uproar And the peoples bPs 21:11devising a vain thing? 2The aPs 48:4-6 kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together bPs 74:18, 23 Against the Lord and against His [G]cJohn 1:41Anointed, saying, 3“Let us aJer 5:5tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!” 4He who [H]sits in the heavens aPs 37:13 laughs, The Lord bPs 59:8scoffs at them. 5Then He will speak to them in His aPs 21:8, 9; 76:7 anger And bPs 78:49, 50terrify them in His fury, saying, 6“But as for Me, I have [I]installed aPs 45:6 My King Upon Zion, bPs 48:1, 2My holy mountain.” 7“I will surely tell of the [J]decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are aActs 13:33; Heb 1:5; 5:5My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8‘Ask of Me, and aPs 21:1, 2 I will surely give bPs 22:27 the [K]nations as Your inheritance, And the very cPs 67:7ends of the earth as Your possession. 9‘You shall [L]aPs 89:23; 110:5, 6; Rev 2:26, 27; 12:5; 19:15 break them with a [M]rod of iron, You shall bPs 28:5; 52:5; 72:4shatter them like [N]earthenware.’” 10Now therefore, O kings, aProv 8:15; 27:11show discernment; Take warning, O [O]judges of the earth. 11[P]Worship the Lord with [Q]aPs 5:7 reverence And rejoice with bPs 119:119, 120trembling. 12[R]Do homage to aPs 2:7 the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For bRev 6:16, 17 His wrath may [S]soon be kindled.
